Crowns and Bridges
Crowns and bridges completed by an experienced dentist can give you back a healthy smile that looks completely natural. Dr. Galvan has over nineteen years of experience and offers a 100 percent guarantee on all crowns and bridges for up to one year!
Crowns and bridges are completed in two appointments. During your first appointment, an exact model of your bite will be created. This model is then sent to the lab for your crown or bridge to be created. In your second appointment, we cement the crown or bridge, and then perfect your bite.
Crowns are necessary when a tooth is too damaged to hold a filling, too weak, or broken. Crowns are also often used for cosmetic reasons. Sometimes a temporary crown will be placed to protect the natural tooth until your finished crown is ready.
Your finished crown will be made of porcelain fused to metal which is matched to the color of your surrounding teeth for a completely natural look. We also use 100 percent ceramic or 100 percent porcelain for your crown when metal allergies exist. They are not as strong as porcelain fused to metal but provide a good alternative that looks very natural.
A dental bridge will repair your smile by covering missing teeth. Whether you have one or more missing teeth, as long as they are consecutive, you will only need one bridge. A crown is used on the teeth at each end of the missing teeth, and the bridge is then attached to each crown. Bridges are usually permanent and cannot be removed.
Depending on factors such as your dental insurance, as well as the condition of your gums and surrounding teeth, various materials can be used for your bridge. Some of these include a combination of metal and porcelain, zirconia, or alumina.
